How to know the codec being used in a call

In my lab I have back to back BRI connection

port 0/0/0 is for outgoing call
port 0/0/1 is for incoming calls

  1. Ken Johnson says:

That’s a good method for quickly showing the codec. Normally I will exclude the ports without calls by issuing the command ‘show voice call summary | exclude -..-|ONHOOK’. The ‘-..-‘ is to exclude PRI ports & the ‘ONHOOK’ is to exclude analog ports.

  2. Thank you , I did not know this , I know also that you can make filter for debug command , but I did not test it yet

  3. by the way when CME in mode SIP , this command has no benefit

This is also simple best command to check,
